We must raise over £12,000 every year to cover the library’s annual rent, insurance and utility bills as well as to invest in books, internet and research facilities. So any donation you can give is really valued.

No one working for the library is paid – so all your donation goes towards the material maintenance of the collection and the provision of our services. You will see in the other pages on our website that we also regularly hold Symposia, matinee talks and book sales to raise the funds we need. We are grateful for your support of these too. We are also pleased to be able to offer beautiful unique library mugs and shopping bags and other merchandise in return for donations at the library.
Our membership is not large and in order to keep membership fees affordable, we do need to raise most of our income through other means.
If we wanted to cover our running costs through membership alone we would need an additional 250 members. Otherwise we could cover our annual costs by renting out our space all 16 available slots per week. So however you choose to support us it is much appreciated.
